Âé¶¹´«Ã½ has been awarded a five-year, $1.36 million grant from the U.S. Department of
Education under the TRIO Student Support Services program. The first year of funding
provides $272,364, with anticipated annual renewals through 2030. ![]()
The grant will strengthen Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s commitment to student success by enhancing academic support, advising, and mentorship opportunities for students who are low-income, first-generation, or have disabilities. The initiative, led by Principal Investigator Assistant Vice President for Student Success & Retention, Ernesto Guerrero, will provide critical resources to help students persist in their studies, graduate, and pursue advanced degrees.
The TRIO Student Support Services program was established under the Higher Education Opportunity Act to improve retention and graduation rates among historically underserved students. Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s award will directly benefit hundreds of students each year, reflecting the University’s mission of equity, access, and opportunity.
