Research Students

If you are enrolled in an Independent Study, Capstone, Master's Thesis, or Master's Project course, follow the instructions below as part of your safety training. Once the listed requirements are completed, print or digitally submit all certificates and forms to your Principal Investigator (PI).

1. Online safety trainings covering standard safety practices and procedures based on the type of work. See a list of CSU Learn courses.
2. CI Specific Safety Information Form (, 467KB)
3. Specific hazard(s) and safety information training provided by your Principal Investigator (Faculty) and/or Staff. 
   • Laboratory Safety Training Documentation Form (, 132KB)
   • Shop Specific Safety Training Documentation Form (, 147KB)

Research Volunteers

For information and requirements of the Â鶹´«Ã½ Volunteer Program, contact Risk Management.

CI Affiliated Volunteer

1. - must be completed and approved by EHS-RM prior to any trainings or work.

4. Specific hazard(s) and safety information training provided by your Principal Investigator (Faculty) and/or Staff.

   • Shop Specific Safety Training Documentation Form (, 147KB)

Once all the listed requirements are completed, print or digitally submit all certificates and forms to your Faculty or Staff member. 

Non-CI Affiliated Volunteer

1. - must be completed and approved by EHS-RM prior to any trainings or work. 
2. Online safety trainings covering standard safety practices and procedures based on the type of work. 
   • Laboratory personnel that will be handling, using, or storing chemicals or using laboratory equipment (including LASERs): CDC Laboratory Safety Trainings (, 76.7KB)
   •  SHOP Personnel that will be using, handling or storing hand and power tools: PENDING
3. CI Specific Safety Information Form (, 467KB)
4. Specific hazard(s) and safety information training provided by your Principal Investigator (Faculty) and/or Staff.

   • Shop Specific Safety Training Documentation Form (, 147KB)

Once all the listed requirements are completed, print or digitally submit all certificates and forms to your Faculty or Staff member. 

Other

If you are enrolled in a course at Â鶹´«Ã½ that is NOT an Independent Study, Capstone, Master's Thesis, or Master's Project course AND your faculty and relevant staff (i.e., ISTs) have approved additional access, follow the instructions below as part of your safety training. Once all the listed requirements are completed, print or digitally submit all certificates and forms to your Faculty member.
